Leslie joined the team at China New Horizons in 2017. Prior to coming to CNH, she served as the Service and Experiential Learning Coordinator at an IB school in the highlands of Papua, Indonesia, and Program Coordinator for an Immersion, Service and Adventure Semester program in Yosemite and Ecuador. Her experience includes 8 years of living and working abroad as an educator and more than 14 years teaching, leading, training, facilitating and guiding participants, ages 6 - 65, in learning experiences that develop greater awareness of self and others, global citizenship, leadership and more.
Leslie holds a BA in Recreation Leadership with emphasis in Outdoor Adventure, a MS in Experiential Education, and a Wilderness First Responder certificate.

Tiwana Merritt joined China New Horizons in 2016 after spending ten years teaching in Australia. She has specialized in outdoor and experiential education throughout most of her teaching career. She graduated from Southern Oregon University with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Science then completed a Graduate Diploma of Education at Deakin University in Melbourne, Australia and most recently a Masters in Educational Leadership through Monash University. This USA native grew up enjoying sports, reading and travel. As a China New Horizons team member Tiwana is responsible for the development and delivery of the Visiting Schools Program. She is looking forward to exploring China while learning more about Chinese language, culture and history.
Paul Yuen joined China New Horizons in 2014. He is a passionate outdoor enthusiast, interested in all kinds of outdoor sports and recreation. Having completed his degree in Outdoor Education in Ireland, Paul was able to peruse his interests professionally. He has since worked as an outdoor activity instructor in Ireland, and whitewater raft guide in North Caroline, USA before moving back home. As a China New Horizons team member, Paul is responsible for the coordination and delivery of the China Programmes.
Since his move back to Hong Kong in 2011, he has continued pursuing his passion, by working with youth and sharing the joy of outdoor adventures with others. If he is not at work, he can often be found playing rugby with mates or hiking with his corgi around Sai Kung country park.
Ms. Jiang joined CNH in 2016 and is responsible for the program preparation, coordination, implementation and other aspects such as teaching Mandarin and facilitating Chinese cultural activities. She considers herself lucky to join students in their learning journey while witnessing their growth and achievements. Ms. Jiang majored in Teaching Chinese As a Second language in Hubei University of Education, received Bachelor of Arts Degree and acquired her Secondary School Teacher Certificate. After graduating her dream to be a teacher came true, she was selected by Hanban/Confucius Institute to be a Volunteer Chinese teacher. She taught Chinese for two years at Kritsana Vittaya School in Songkhla Thailand. This experience overseas teaching enhanced her understanding of Chinese language and culture, grew her teaching experience, and improved her ability of organization and coordination as well.
Ms.Jiang has a wide range of hobbies including: reading, Chinese paper-cutting, as well as mountain climbing and hiking. She has a small body but great power, so she does everything with great determination and perseverance. As the saying goes, ”Where there is a will, where is a way.”
Carrie Lin joined China New Horizons in 2016 after working as admission and marketing liaison in Utahloy International School Zengcheng. The Guangdong native spent 4 years studying English and contract between Chinese and Western cultures at Guangdong, Huashang University of Finance and Economic. In 2014 she taught Chinese and English to middle school students in a top educational institution in Guangzhou.
As the Language and Culture Facilitator at CNH, Carrie’s main role is to teach Mandarin and facilitate cultural immersion experiences for students throughout China. Carrie is enthusiastic and excited to be in her role at CNH. It gives her the opportunity to communicate with people from different countries that are interested in China’s history and culture. During her free time, Carrie enjoys travel and to catch up on her reading. Her attitude to life can be summarized by: “do not for one repulse, give up the purpose that you resolved to effect”
Carol Zeng joined China New Horizons in 2017 as a Chinese Language and Culture Facilitator after three years of teaching Chinese and English in educational institutions. She studied at Huashang University of Finance and Economics in Guangdong and earned her BA degree with an excellent score and reward. Carol enjoys studying Chinese and Western Cultures which helps her while teaching students about Chinese language and culture. Carol enjoys outdoor activities like hiking, rock-climbing, abseiling and exploring, as well as learning many new things. Her motto for life is, 'always keep smiling and be positive while trying my best. Smile to life and life will smile back at you'!
Winnie joined China New Horizons in 2017 as an office assistant. She graduated from Anhui Construction University with a bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering in 2011. After three years as a water treatment designer, she became an office assistant. Winnie has rich experience, strong responsibility, and professional office skills. Her strong skills and positive attitude help her to serve the team well.
